This month, Geotab & GPSFMS introduces several enhancements to fleet safety, device management, and data accessibility. These updates improve driver safety tracking, streamline asset reporting, and introduce new tools to simplify compliance and training.

New Safety Center Features: Drive App Safety & Driver Risk Reports

Drive App Safety Tile (Coming Soon!)

A new Safety Tile is coming to the Geotab Drive App, giving drivers direct access to their safety insights from their mobile device. This feature will bring Risk Analytics data from MyGeotab into the hands of drivers, providing real-time visibility into their performance and risk factors.

  • Where to find it: The Safety Tile will appear on the Dashboard in the Drive App when released. Stay tuned for availability!

New Driver Risk Excel Report

Fleets can now analyze driver safety insights with the new Driver Risk Excel Report, available in both Excel and PDF formats. This report provides key safety data from the Geotab Safety Center, allowing for deeper analysis outside of MyGeotab.

Key Benefits:

  • Enhanced Flexibility – Combine with other reports, create pivot tables, and gain customized insights into driver risk.

  • Automated Delivery – Schedule reports to be emailed automatically, ensuring consistent access to safety data.

  • Comprehensive Driver Insights – Compare driver risk alongside asset-based reports for a full picture of fleet safety.

  • Where to find it: Navigate to Safety > Safety Center > Risk Analytics > Drivers Tab.

Improved Device Status Reporting for Offline Device Management

Managing offline devices is now more accurate with improvements to the Asset and Device Reports. Previously, offline status detection was designed mainly for GO devices, sometimes causing false alerts for fleets using GO Anywhere, OEM, or third-party devices.

Key Enhancements:

  • Device-Specific Offline Monitoring – Alerts are now tailored based on device type for more reliable connectivity insights.

  • New Device Online & Offline Report – Downloadable reports provide a detailed breakdown of device status for analysis.

  • Watchdog Report Adjustments – Continues to provide GO device status tracking and asset utilization insights.

  • Where to find it: View device status insights at the top of the Assets page in MyGeotab. Download the Device Online & Offline Report under Reports > Report Setup > Device Reports.

Clean Truck Check Enhancements for CARB Compliance

Geotab has made several updates to the Clean Truck Check solution to improve the enrollment process, reporting reliability, and compliance tracking.

What’s New?

  • Faster Enrollment – VIN data is now included to reduce manual navigation.

  • Reliable Reporting – Resolved CSV/XML download issues for accurate failure status reports.

  • Automatic Device Sampling – Devices now retain necessary parameters for scanning, eliminating manual adjustments.

  • Universal IOX Compatibility – Vehicles with firmware 40.38 and later can enroll seamlessly.

These updates make it easier to stay compliant with California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.

Geotab has launched Geotab Academy, a dedicated training platform for MyGeotab users. This centralized resource provides interactive courses, hands-on tutorials, and guided learning tracks to help users get the most out of MyGeotab.

Easier Asset Management with New View-Only Access

A new View Assets clearance setting allows users to see detailed asset information without making changes. This update balances security and accessibility, ensuring users get the data they need while preventing unintended edits.

  • Improved Security – Prevent unauthorized asset edits.

  • Increased Efficiency – Provide access to VINs, license plates, and key asset data.

  • Simplified User Management – Control who can view vs. edit fleet assets.

  • Where to find it: Navigate to People > Clearances in MyGeotab.

  • Note: This replaces the old List Assets clearance—previous users will now have access to both list and view asset details.

Geotab Data Connector 2.0: Enhanced Fleet Insights

The new Geotab Data Connector 2.0 update enhances data accuracy and usability, offering deeper driver insights, improved fault monitoring, and a more intuitive experience.

What’s New?

  • Expanded Data Points – Now includes driver KPIs, metadata, and enhanced vehicle diagnostics.

  • Better Fault Monitoring – Improved Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) tracking for vehicle health.

  • Integrated Templates – Access updated in-app data templates without searching external resources.

  • Where to find it: Available under the Reports category in MyGeotab.

Advanced Routing Updates: Smarter Territory Planning & EV Range Control

Geotab has introduced new features in Advanced Routing to improve fleet efficiency, flexibility, and control.

  • Streamlined Territory Planning – Easily import past route data without extra CSV files.

  • Optimized Scheduling – Use Route module tools to schedule appointments more efficiently.

  • Custom Appointment Statuses – Track unique workflows with custom status labels.

  • EV Range Override – Admins can now manually adjust EV range estimates to ensure more accurate route planning.

  • Note: These updates improve functionality without affecting existing workflows.

Upcoming Video Feature Migration (March 2025)

Geotab is transitioning Add-In-based video tools to native MyGeotab video features for better integration and usability.

Key Changes:

  • Video Center → Video Recordings – Now found in the main menu.

  • Note: This is a design refresh only—no changes to setting functionalities.

New Driver Logs Page (Beta)

Geotab is introducing a beta version of the Driver Logs page, offering a more detailed, user-friendly interface for HOS tracking.

  • Fleet-Wide Log Overview – Easily monitor driver status and rule compliance.

  • Graph-Based Log Details – Visual duty status breakdowns for better insights.
