What’s New in MyGeotab – January 2025

Writer's picture: GPSFMSGPSFMS

Geotab & GPSFMS continues to enhance its platform with new safety insights, benchmarking tools, and an upgraded maintenance management system. These updates bring a more driver-focused approach to fleet safety and streamline vehicle maintenance tracking.

Enhanced Safety Center: Deeper Insights into Driver Behavior

The Geotab Safety Center now offers a driver-centric approach, allowing you to assess individual driver performance rather than just vehicle-based safety events. This improvement helps fleet managers gain a more accurate risk profile for each driver, regardless of which vehicle they operate.

New Safety Features:

Predictive Collision Risk – Analyze the likelihood of collisions at the driver, asset, or fleet level to proactively address safety concerns.

Fleet & Driver Performance Benchmarks – Compare your fleet’s safety performance against similar fleets for better insights.

Risk Factor Identification – Detect high-risk behaviors such as:

  • Harsh braking

  • Harsh cornering

  • Speeding

This update is powered by machine learning, aggregating safety data from multiple events, including acceleration, braking, and contextual driving conditions, to provide a clearer picture of overall driver safety.

Benchmarks & Risk Analytics: Understanding Fleet Safety Performance

The new Benchmarking & Risk Analytics tools in the Safety Center provide deeper insights into how your fleet compares to similar operations.

Fleet Safety Benchmarks

✔ Compare fleet safety against industry peers with meaningful peer-group insights.

✔ See how your assets and drivers rank compared to other fleets with similar characteristics.

Collision Risk Analytics

✔ Analyze collision risk trends across your fleet.

✔ View the Average Collision Risk Graph, which estimates the probability of a collision occurring in the next 100,000 km/miles based on past data.

✔ Customize your analytics using date filters (default: last 365 days).

For more details, refer to the Benchmarks and Risk Analytics section of the Safety Center user guide.

Introducing Work Order Management: A Smarter Way to Handle Maintenance

Starting January 22, 2025, the Legacy Maintenance Center (Beta) will be replaced with Work Order Management—a centralized system that simplifies maintenance tracking and scheduling.

Important Note: Work Order Management will launch in Beta, with refinements based on user feedback through January and February. A mandatory migration for all customers will take place after Geotab Connect 2025 in late February.

What’s New in Work Order Management?

All-in-One Maintenance Tracking – Combines Maintenance Reminders, Upcoming Maintenance, and Maintenance Records into a single tool.

Recurring Maintenance Scheduling – Automatically generates work requests based on set schedules.

Predictive Work Requests – Identifies potential vehicle issues using Geotab’s Data Insights to flag maintenance needs proactively.

Work Orders & Cost Tracking – Gain visibility into vehicle downtime and maintenance expenses.

Migrating to Work Order Management

If you have existing Maintenance Records, you'll be prompted to migrate. This process is simple and irreversible—once migrated, you cannot revert to the old system.

To migrate, visit any of these pages in MyGeotab:

  • Maintenance > Maintenance Reminders

  • Maintenance > Upcoming Maintenance

  • Maintenance > Maintenance Records

You'll see a Migration Banner—click Migrate to transfer your data. Note: You must be a database administrator to complete this process.

Where to Find Work Order Management

Navigate to Maintenance in your MyGeotab menu to access the new system.
