by MyGeotab and Technical Writing Teams

Updated Assets page to display reason devices go offline

We’ve listened to your concerns about occasional connectivity issues with your GO devices. We understand how frustrating it can be to figure out the cause, taking away time out of your day. The assets page has been updated to display more context when its device suddenly goes offline.

Now, when your GO devices encounter connectivity issues, like a loose installation or low battery, you’ll see a clear explanation in red right below the asset name.

Click the red text to view more information about your device’s offline status.

Once you see the reason the device went offline, click Learn more for quick troubleshooting solutions. Whether it’s using zip tie connectors for loose installation or device replacement, we provide step-by-step guidance to get you back online in no time!

Added ability to dismiss individual notifications

We’ve made it easier for you to dismiss individual notifications on your notifications list. You no longer have to click into each notification before dismissing it!

Included defect details to Asset Inspection (DVIR) email and notification reports

You can now include the important details you need to see when you receive your real-time asset inspection reports. As a Maintenance or Fleet Manager who needs to see fleet defect details the moment an asset inspection occurs, your reports can also include:

  • Asset Inspection Defect - The specific vehicle part being inspected.

  • The Asset Inspection Type – The type of inspection created for the asset.

  • Asset Inspection Defect Remarks – The remark tied to the defect of an asset inspection.

✱ NOTE: This is open comments for each individual defect. Since there can be multiple defects within one asset inspection, they are listed and separated by a comma.

  • Asset Inspection Driver Remarks – The Driver’s remarks for the entire asset inspection.

With these four additional details, the report doesn’t just tell you if an asset inspection occurred, but it also now includes which maintenance item was impacted, the type of inspection, and any other important details you need to know.

For more information about how to use this feature, refer to the Notification Templates section of the Product Guide, and the Sending notifications using templates section of the Quick Reference Guide.
